Profile

Charlotte Wang (Wang Wentian) is A.R.M. Management's Partner for China — a PRC-qualified lawyer and partner at a Shenzhen-headquartered law firm, practising at the junction where Chinese capital meets foreign jurisdictions. Her work centres on outbound and inbound investment compliance: ODI and FDI structuring, regulatory filings, and the approval sequence that determines whether a cross-border investment clears or stalls.

She has advised Chinese enterprises on outbound direct investments into the United States, Vietnam, Singapore, Brazil and Mexico, with a cumulative investment value exceeding USD 80 million — her stated transactional record. That corridor work runs in both directions: for international clients, she navigates entity establishment, foreign-investment compliance and corporate governance inside one of the world's most consequential and procedurally distinct regulatory systems.

Alongside investment work, she acts in commercial disputes — shareholder litigation, trademark infringement and domestic arbitration — and in corporate compliance mandates spanning hospitality, property management and digital-media enterprises. She has served for three consecutive years on the core editorial board of the Annual Report on Intellectual Property Arbitration Cases in China (2022–2024 editions), published for the Intellectual Property Arbitration Center of the China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (CIETAC), and sits as a part-time mediator at the Sanya Intellectual Property Protection Center.

She holds a Bachelor of Laws specialising in Anglo-American law from Beijing Normal University and a Master of Laws in Commercial Law, with a focus on intellectual property and corporate governance, from the University of Bristol — a common-law and civil-law formation that mirrors the cross-system work she practises daily. She advises in Mandarin, English and Cantonese, and is based in Shenzhen, one of ARM's five network cities.
