Profile

Johel Blanchard is ARM Management's Partner for Fund and Tax Advisory in Luxembourg, where he leads the firm's Luxembourg practice for clients requiring fund structuring, AIFM regulatory compliance, accounting and tax advisory, and cross-border holding structure management. He brings over two decades of senior finance and advisory experience at the intersection of private equity, regulated fund structures and international tax — a combination that few practitioners can offer from both sides of the table.

A Chartered Accountant by training, Johel has built his career across the full private equity lifecycle — from fund structuring and AIFM regulatory compliance through to deal execution, consolidation and exit. He has served as a personal director on an AIFM-regulated fund, a governance role that placed him at the centre of investment committee decisions, CSSF reporting obligations and fiduciary accountability to institutional investors. His cross-border fund work has spanned Luxembourg, Mauritius, Singapore, Australia and the United States.

His deal and advisory track record reflects the highest tier of the market. At Sun Capital Partners, he was involved in the acquisition of major consumer and industrial brands — the kind of complex, leveraged transactions where accounting precision and speed of execution are equally critical. He has also worked on a landmark green energy transaction with Warburg Pincus involving a USD 230 billion infrastructure deployment into Germany, and on AIFM fund structures underpinning large-scale real estate investment in Austin, Texas — mandates that required coordinating Luxembourg fund law, cross-border tax structuring and multi-jurisdictional regulatory compliance simultaneously.

Earlier in his career, Johel held senior roles at Zimmer & Partners, Auren Luxembourg and Jindal Films Europe — formerly part of ExxonMobil's European operations — accumulating deep technical expertise in Lux GAAP, IFRS, fund accounting, SPV structuring and consolidation across multi-entity holding structures. He advises boards, AIFMs, audit firms, legal advisors and family offices on governance, compliance and regulatory matters, and has led the automation of reporting tools and process improvement programmes for complex fund operations.

His practice at ARM covers Luxembourg accounting and tax, fund structuring and operations, CSSF regulatory advisory, SPV and holding company management, family office services, and corporate restructuring. He advises in French, Polish and English, and is based in Luxembourg.
