His grounding is operator-side, not advisory-side: twenty years as an international HR director, latterly based in Paris and Geneva with responsibility for 160 countries across 10 regions at SITA (Société Internationale de Télécommunications Aéronautiques), where his remit included administering the group's global employee share plan — a plan John describes as among the most internationally deployed of its era. Before SITA, he spent eight years in Jeddah as an HR manager with Saudi Arabian Airlines.
In 2001 he founded Compandben SA, a Geneva-based firm providing employment contracts, handbooks, remuneration and benefits design, share plans, payroll, and employer-of-record services in over 100 countries — built over two decades and sold in 2022. He continues to provide the same services internationally.
John holds an MA from the University of Cambridge and is based in Cambridge, UK.
